Hi all,

I have a question regarding the offline synchronization in Cloud for Customer.

When the offline support is available on the IPad and someone makes changes in offline modus and at the same time another person makes a change on the same data on a laptop (with internet).

Will the IPad overwrite the data after synchronization? And is it possible to configure this?

Can someone provide me the right answer on this questions?

Thanks in adance!

Hi Arian,

Are you referring to the SAP Cloud for Customer for iPad app and offline or are you talking about the SAP Cloud for Customer, extended edition offline mode?

Hi Arian,

Currently there is no configuration provided to decide on who wins while sync. But by default server wins. Most of the cases data downloaded in Offline is owned by the user. So, the possibility of same data getting updated by multiple users is less common.

Hi, good question.

In our market, it´s common to get updates of data, for the same customer master data, from differents channels or areas; Contact Center, Marketing  and of course sales side with the  sales rep. on the field. According with your comment it should be restricted, by a process definition, the update of customer master data from off-line mode?

thanks in advanced,

Niko

Hi Niko,

Yes, it has to be restricted in Offline. Just to emphasize more, as long as the update is not to the same field it should be fine otherwise latest server change will win.

Anand
