SAP Groupware Connector 5.0 Installation - Connect MS Exchange 2010

I try to install the SAP Groupware Connector 5.0 to connect a MS Exchange 2010 Server.

My host computer has an MS Windows Server 2008 operation system.

After starting the setup.exe and fill in the entries Exchange Server, Mailbox, User, Domain, Password I Get an error message:

"Validation of connection to Exchange Server failed"

"CDO library is not available."

"[0x80040154] Class not registered"

I am the opinion that I don't need a CDO, because I am useing a MS Exchange 2010 Server ....

Can somebody help me?!

Thanks

Hi Chrisitan,

It's true that CDO is not supported by MS with Outlook 2010.

However, the bad news is that Outlook 2007 and 2010 are not supported when being installed with Group connector. Only Outlook 2003 is compatible in this case. However, Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 can all be used as general mail client installed on end users' computers in a server side GW< >CRM integration scenario.

Best regards,

Brian.

Yes that's my goal.

We are planning a server-side-groupware with Outlook 2010 as mail client for end user.

But when I try to install the Groupware connector 5.0 on my Windows Server 2008 Host computer - to connect our MS Exchange 2010 Server I get this message ...

There is no installation of any outlook mail client on the groupware host computer ...

Can be there a problem, if an outlook 2010 mail client is installed on the ms exchange server 2010?!

Need help!

Hi Chrisitan,

Perhpas I wan'st clear in my previous reply. You cannot connect Groupware connector 5.0 to MS Exchange 2010 Server.

I've just checked, and found that exchange 2007 is now supported, but not 2010.Further information is available from the following link:

Sorry I can't give a different answer....

Brian.

From the current version of SAP Note 1642681 it seems fairly definitive that

SAP Groupware connector 5.0 is supported for Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007 AND 2010

What's more the sap help link you are using is not up to date with Groupware 5.0 information as it indicates support for Lotus Domino which with Groupware 5.0 is currently note supported as per the note above. The CRM help documentation was published in October 2011 and the Groupware 5.0 was released in December so it is not surprising that the help documentation is behind.
