Devtoberfest 2022 Contest Activities and Points

Contest Activities and Points – Awarded and accumulated against your SAP Community ID logged into SAP Groups.

For Devtoberfest 2022 we will be having 4 weeks of activities during the month of October, and as you may or may not know, most of those activities allow you to earn points.  These points will be accumulated in our contest. (CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES HERE).  We also have an overview about taking part in the contest here: Devtoberfest Contest - SAP Community Groups

This table below includes a sample of some events that you can earn a badge with points associated. Once that badge is applied to your SAP Community ID you will be able to see your points status change on the “for fun only” Devtoberfest Gameboard.  More events will be published in future weeks of Devtoberfest, including a list after week 3 of a special group of 20 tutorials (Scavenger Hunt) as a Devtoberfest Mission with bonus points awarded if all 20 tutorials are completed.

We will have many existing tutorials from https://developers.sap.com that you can complete to earn points in Devtoberfest 2022. Each week we will announce the tutorials that go along with that week’s daily topics which you can complete for points. However we didn't want to penalize those of you that might have already completed these tutorials in the past. Therefore if you are registered for Devtoberfest and completed these key tutorials in the past you are granted credit automatically for those. (LINKS TO T&C’s)

@Kishore - the badge catchup for those missing ABAP tutorials should be complete now and they appear in your gameboard.

@FredericGirod  -- of your missing badges I think they are all there now except the ABAP Package one. I've asked the team to investigate that one again.  Some of these very common tutorials have so many people that have completed them that back assigning badges takes a while to run and seems like it might be timing out. But we'll keep running them as long as we see anyone has some missing.

i have already achieved 7835 in week 1 , if i add 1250 then it becomes 9085.

somewhere calculation seem to be incorrect or am i doing something wrong here , can you check please.

Completed all registration, sessions, tutorials, ... until 7th Oct 2022 list and total points must be earned 8385.

My game board link shows 7835 missing 550 points, as earlier I know it 'Create an SAP BTP ABAP Environment Trial User' tutorial I have a old badge, that is not considered till. still missing 375 points. Verified all badges got in reputation (link) for this week.

@Florian - you don't have to join live to earn the points or enjoy the session.  All live sessions are available on YouTube for watching any time you want.  Then there is a small questionnaire you complete to answer questions about the content in the session in order to earn the points. Those that join the sessions live have no advantage over those that watch it later.  You have until the end of October to watch and earn the points at your leisure.

I have completely solved all tasks for weeks 1 and 2, and should therefore have a total score of 16335 points on the gameboard, but I currently have a score of 15810 points. As of today, there are 76 badges to be achieved in connection with Devtoberfest, but I have only received 73 of 76 badges. After a close check, I could see that I am missing the following 3 badges along with points, although I have already solved the tasks. Can you please check this and send me an update?

I solved the Create Your First ABAP Console Application question with this answer - 

out->write( 'Hello SAP Cloud Platform ABAP Environment' ).

but it tells me "Sorry, that’s not quite right." 

Did I not understand the question or is the tutorial wrong?

You will have to remove white space as said by @imancour. The answer will be

It is not syntactically correct though!

@Foxi we are aware of some badges that didn't get assigned if you had already completed the tutorial before Devtoberfest.  The team is working on these. I believe that all but one from week 1 is now corrected.  The rest, including several from week 2, are being worked on.

Problem with the Enable SAP BTP, Kyma Runtime tutorial

In step two of this tutorial I must "Open Kyma runtime console UI" but this does not work. 

1st I get in a flash this picture:

...but in same second it changes to this screen:

..and then nothing more happens.

@TMNielsen - for technical issues with the tutorials you really shouldn't post those here.  The chances the authors or other topics experts will see it within this forum is very slight.  Better to either use the Provide Feedback option in the tutorial itself or post in the appropriate Community Q&A Forum for this topic.

Question 11 in crossword puzzle shows 11 characters in the graphic whereas in the question it says (4,9) which equals 13 characters. Should we follow the graphic or the question? Please confirm

I think the number between parenthesis in the question, it have relationship to the cryp line. Is it correct? If yes, I think there are missing numbers like 1,6,7 and other numbers are duplicated 11,4...

Any tip to resolve some questions like 'beret model'? It is very difficult for not english native speakers.

The numbers between the parenthesis denote the number of characters that the answer has. (11) denotes the answer has 11 characters and (4,9) denotes the answer is two words with one word of 4 characters and other of 9 characters and (2-4) denotes the answer is two words separated by hyphen(-). Hope it is clear. 

About the beret model, just google what beret means! You can easily crack! Cheers 😊

Pls advise how to registered as an individual account to set up the BTP - free-tier service to perform the week3 low code/no code exercise ?  As per e-shop setting , individual registration for a BTP free-tier service from my Universal account setup has be rejected as no service available for China region. 

My BTP trial account (US AWS region)  do not have access to related services for those low code/no code exercises for business process

Response key path: given various combination nothing takes. (/team_all_season/queryResults/row or row or queryResults/row  ... )
