Entrants have the responsibility to review and understand their employer’s policies, laws, rules and/or regulations, tax implications, and any other limitations regarding eligibility to participate in promotions and/or receive prizes in connection therewith.  Furthermore, if you enter without obtaining the appropriate approvals, or if an individual is participating in violation of any such policies, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, disqualify you and/or your entry, and forfeit the prize, if applicable.

Sponsor in its sole discretion may disqualify any entrant from participating in the Devtoberfest Game contest, refuse to award prize(s), and require the return of any prize(s), if entrant engages in any conduct Sponsor deems to be improper, unfair or otherwise adverse to the operation of the Devtoberfest Game contest or detrimental to other entrants. Such improper conduct includes, but is not limited to, falsifying personal information required during Devtoberfest Game contest registration or prize claim, violating any Official Rules stated herein, winning a prize(s) through methods such as automated computer scripts or other programming techniques, allowing others to use the entrant's personal information for the purpose of winning a Prize, or tampering with Sponsor's administration of this Devtoberfest Game contest.

  6. Prizes.  There can be an unlimited amount of qualifiers across all four prize levels (described in Section 5, above). Participants that achieve these prize levels during the Promotion Period will have a chance to win prizes.  The prizes will be allocated by random drawing amongst the qualifiers at that prize level if the number of qualifiers exceeds the pool of prizes (described below) at any given prize level. Prize level 1 will be  a digital Devtoberfest image valued at $0 USD once a point threshold of at least 2000 points achieved.  Prize level 2 is a beanie cap valued up to $10 USD once a point threshold of at least 12000 points achieved.  Prize level 3 is stadium scarf valued up to $15 USD once a point threshold of at least 18000 points achieved. Subject to the number of prizes available, as described in this section and below, after which there will be a random drawing, as you qualify for each level you win those prizes in addition to the previous level.  A level 3 winner also gets prizes in levels 1 and 2.

If more entrants qualify in any given prize bracket in accordance with these Official Rules on or about November 7th, 2022, SAP will conduct a random drawing from all of the eligible participants at that prize level. The drawing will be conducted by Sponsor in accordance with these Official Rules, and the selection and determination of a winner(s) is final.  The entrant(s) selected as the winner(s) must comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. Each winner will be notified using the contact information submitted when joining the Devtoberfest Group, and you consent to being contacted by Sponsor via any means available using this contact information for purposes of communicating with you about the Devtoberfest Game contest. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within three (3) days after the first attempt to contact him/her, Sponsor may at its sole and absolute discretion select an alternate entrant from among all eligible entries received for that prize category.

No cash or other substitution, assignment or transfer of prizes permitted, except by Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component with another of comparable or greater value. Winner is responsible for all taxes surcharges and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PRIZE LEVEL 4 (The Trip): All transportation, lodging, meals, gratuities, and all costs and expenses relating to or arising directly or indirectly out of the trip to be determined by SAP. All costs not covered are the sole cost and responsibility of the winner.  The trip must be taken on dates and times specified by SAP, which dates and times are subject to change. SAP is not responsible if a selected winner is unable to attend the trip for any reason, and no additional or alternative or substitute prize or consideration will be given.  The trip winners must travel on the dates specified by SAP. All travel arrangements must be made through a travel agent or entity selected by SAP. Specific air carrier(s), lodging providers and other trip specifics are at the sole discretion of SAP.  Travel must originate and end at major gateway airports specified by SAP.  The trip winners will be required to provide valid travel documents and passports, valid photo IDs, and inoculations as required by travel authorities prior to and at time of travel; and to obtain and maintain all insurance (including health, liability and any other insurance). Winners acknowledge and agree that SAP is not a provider/carrier of transportation, or insurance provider. Winners may not make changes to travel details once any element(s) of the travel arrangements have been booked. SAP is not responsible for any changes of any element of the trip, including but not limited to any expenses incurred as a consequence of missed flights, flight charges, cancellation, or delays. SAP will not replace any lost or stolen tickets, travel vouchers, or certificates. Any unclaimed and/or unused element of the trip will be forfeited and remain the property of SAP.  In the event any trip winner engages in behavior that, as determined by SAP (or its designee) in their absolute discretion, is obnoxious or threatening, dangerous, illegal, disorderly, or that is intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, SAP reserves the right to terminate the trip early for that winner, in whole or in part, and to send that participant home with no further compensation. In the event that, for reasons beyond their control and not related to the Entrants, SAP is unable to award the trip as described in these Official Rules, SAP will substitute a prize of a similar nature and equal or greater value at their sole discretion.  The trip is non-assignable and non-transferable.  The trip is not redeemable for cash.  A winner is not a recipient of the trip prize until the winner has been verified or notified as a winner by SAP.  If at any time a winner is unable to accept the prize in its entirety, the selected winner will forfeit the trip without any additional compensation or consideration, and the trip may be, at SAP’s discretion, awarded to an alternate winner.  All prize details are at SAP’s sole discretion.

Any prize awarded to you is awarded under the condition that your acceptance does not violate any applicable laws or policies within your organization. Public sector employees and/or government officials and SAP customers currently in an active competitive bid cycle with SAP are not eligible to receive prizes. Acceptance of this prize indicates that the recipient is neither public sector/government official or a customer in an active competitive bid with SAP.  If you are unsure whether your acceptance may violate any such laws or policies, we strongly encourage you to seek advice from your ethics or compliance official. If an individual or an organization is unable to accept all or a portion of a prize that is awarded, Sponsor may elect to award some portion of the prize to the recipient in question, or may elect to withdraw the prize and award it to another participant.

Members from Brazil are not eligible?

Unfortunately same for Slovakia. I assume SAP developers relation team did every thing they could to have as much countries as possible on the list. There must be an issue with local SAP branches in those counties not on the list. It would be interesting to know what reasoning people at local SAP offices have for that.

No baltic countries this year, again. Bummer.

The country list is controlled and validated by SAP legal.  There are various reasons, such as local/regional laws, which can impact availability to participate due to the prizes.  But even if not eligible for the contest prizes, most every country is still welcome to take part in the educational content.

I'm following the next link to this event:

https://devrel-tools-prod-scn-badges-srv.cfapps.eu10.hana.ondemand.com/devtoberfestContest/scnId.Her...

How to know which is my scnId?

Is it the S-user?

If so, I put my s-user there, but I received the message:

The SAP Community ID you specified was not found or does not expose , public badge information.

Then I followed the tutorial described here:

https://developers.sap.com/tutorials/community-profile.html

But although I did each step, I'm still receiving the same message.

Any hint? Thanks guys... 🙂

I see that my previous badges and interactions have disappeared from my profile. Looks like a new profile has been set up for me. How can i get my old badges  and interactions back into my profile? Please advice. Thanks, Kapil Patil

@kapilpatil - are you talking that badges/progress on the Devtoberfest gameboard or within your SAP Community Profile?  If it's the Devtoberfest gameboard, we cleared out all of last year so that people start fresh in this this year's contest.  But that doesn't have any impact on your Community Profile badges.  If that's what you are talking about, can you please share your Community Profile ID.

@thomas_jung I am referring to my community badges and reputations. My community profile ID is p471600. I am getting an error when I login. I am not able to reset password as well. associated email is kapil0481@gmail.com. When I logged in last time, as part SAP ID service , I got a prompt to set up new community ID. As I was not able to reset password, so not sure what happened.
