It remotely senses machine and equipment behavior, predicts machine and equipment malfunctions and optimizes maintenance and service processes and automates operations.

By moving from reactive to predictive maintenance and service, companies can increase asset availability and raise profits and satisfaction levels.

Hi Frank,

Thank you for your interest. 

It’s a cloud/subscription based price model. The metrics are based on the # of devices
and the # of measuring points in the system which impacts the HANA and storage size for historic data.

One additional question: Do we need a HANA cloud instance in order to use it or can we use it together with an existing HANA On-Premise solution?

Hi Frank,

Predictive Maintenance and Service is provided as a cloud offering, which means that HANA and all other Technology components including the solution is offered as a service (SaaS). No need to
install a big data architecture in your data centers.

The alternative is to install HANA and the required technology components on-premise and then build a custom IoT application with SAP’s Custom Development organization.
