Production managers sometimes want immediately to create production orders without using the steps in planning.

To support his, we provide a common task ‘New Production Order’ in the Production Control Work Center of SAP Business ByDesign.

New Production Order Creation Common Task

It creates a production order and the respective production proposal and the production request (to cater the planning purpose) in a single step. You can see these in the document flow.

The production order can be saved ‘in Preparation’ status or can be immediately released to execution.

In case of mistakes, you can also immediately delete the production orders if it was not released yet.

This feature allows an easy creation of production orders in one step and without changing Work Centers.

You can also follow a demo in the system here.

Hi Iris,

Do you know if there will be a standard webservice or custom ODATA released for this function also?

Do we have the relevant objects released for an SDK solution to create Production Orders via integration?

Kind Regards,

Zsolt

Hi Zolt,

at the moment, you have to use the web service to create production proposals ManageProductionProposalIn and create the production requests and then the production orders.

Best regards,

Iris

Hi Iris,

Thanks for your blog.

We have a customer ByD project ongoing, where the scope is to connect the advanced planning & scheduling system (APS) with SAP ByD integration. In detail to the production area.

Could you please confirm, is it possible for SAP ByD to perform a resource exchange for an already existing production order using the service of the integrations?

I have browsed several SOAP services without success. I've tried building Odata but I can't find the record to edit.

The function should be exactly the same as your colleague in the blog below. But the need would be to use either SOAP or Odata service.
