Change "Valid From" date after' sort field 'changes and .....

Hello friends

After working with SAP for years, I have come across something strange.!!!!

I would like your help regarding its logic and correctness

After changing the sort field and Planner group and Main work center and and Cost center !!!!!!, I see that the "Valid from "date changes .....

I tested this issue many times in transaction IE02...

Does the system do this correctly or is it working with a malfunction under the influence of bad configuration or ABAP?

Hi,

Goto SPRO > Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Technical Objects > Equipment > Equipment Usage Period > Usage History Update

Remove check from Time seg, here. also, check setting for Define History-Related Fields as per your requirements.

Hello,
equipment data have validity time segments.
Depending on configuration and your changes a new segment is created and stored in table EQUZ.
The last/previous data are represented in the second last segment ending at the day of change - the newest segment starts a the day of change and is valid until doomsday (9999-12-31).

The problem is, why should this date be changed by changing the "sort field"?

f1 sort field says: "This field is for a company's internal use and is not checked by the SAP system."

Hello,

I explained the general mechanism - valid-form date on the UI is always the one from the last time segment - not the equipment since its creation. There is creation date for that purpose.
The question which field changes cause a new time segment in EQUZ is also dependent on configuration.
