The problem is not the GOS, is to use picture not stored in SE78

A GOS attachment of what type? Only image or plain text can be embedded in Smart Form (not PDF, not Word, not Excel, etc., or you need to extract the text of these documents so that to embed it as plain text)

The only possibility to include images in Smart Forms is SE78. Read Frederic link or search the forum (for instance this blog post, although QR is now native it shows how to create image programatically in SE78).

Smart Forms and Adobe Forms handle images differently.

the answer is yes (provided that the type of image is supported by SE78).

Your question correspond to two questions:

1. How to read the contents of a GOS Attachment. Many answers in the forum. It will work whatever the attachment is, image, PDF, etc.
2. How to embed an image in Smart Forms. The links given by Frederic and I.
