Public Cloud Demo Tenant: No business roles yet

Hello experts,

in my company we have since a short while a partner demo tenant for the SAP public cloud. So not the starter/quality/production thing with CBC but a demo tenant. When I now want to run a test script, I have to assign business roles to the user I want to run the script with. However, currently we have no business roles in besides the SAP_BR_ADMINISTRATOR. I would have expected to have at least the SAP templates as business roles in our system? Is this normal or is something missing in our configuration?

For my script (like J44) I have to assign six different business roles. Do I really have to create these six roles by myself using the SAP template role? It would be so much easier to just assign the SAP role (like SAP_BR_PRODMASTER_SPECIALIST for example) to my user and that's it. But as I said - currently we have no roles.

Is there any way to replicate these from somewhere?

Good day Matthias,

It seems like you first have to set up the roles in your demo environment just like customers have to do this in their systems (Starter, Q and Prod) as well. How to do this can be found here - the task "Configure Identity and Access Management in the Q-System" of the SAP Activate Methodology for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

In the mean time I am going to check and see if I can get confirmation of what is expected in a Partner Demo system, whether all business roles should have been present or if indeed creating them first is the expectation (which I btw understand would have been what you expected).

Dear Esther,

thank you for your answer. This is what I did in the meantime - creating new business roles based on the SAP templates just following the training material for this task. However, you are right - I would have expected in a demo tenant this is not necessary, the SAP business roles (the template roles) should all be present from the start - without having to create single roles as I did. If you could indeed get information on what is the expectation that would be great. Nevertheless, I am flagging your answer as "accepted" because this comes closest to the question I had.
