Using scrap as packing material in another company code

Hi SAP Gurus

We have Company Codes A and B

In company code A, we are buying raw materials and consuming them. We receive the raw material in drums after consumption of raw materials the empty drums will be of no use and will not have any value. Now the business wants to reuse these drums in company code B.

Intercompany STO process shall be configured and materials shall be sold between Company Code A and B.

For example, if we receive 100 drums of raw materials with the product code: 232(eg)

How shall we attain quantity and value for the empty drums? we do not have a separate material code for the drums and we cannot do stock upload with 561 movement type also.

Please guide what shall be done if you have come across this process previously.

Question here is, how to build up stock ?, even for STO to company "B" you required stock of drum in system. what about using movement type 521 (GR with out production). Anyhow, once stock build-up a normal process of STO can be done.

You need to open seperate material code for drums, most probable a non-valauted, since you didn't valued drums while actual procurement of original raw material done.
