Updating Confidential (Private) projects via API

Hi

We are using the communication scenario SAP_COM_0054 to create and update commercial projects. This works well for us except for updating confidential projects. We are using a communication user for the API and the communication is not one of the named resources on the proejct.

The call to update a projects fails with the error message "You cannot access a private project."

Does anyone know a way around this?

The product management team confirmed this behavior for the API when the project is flagged as private and currently there is no backdoor behind this. As you point out when the project is confidential, only the authorized project partners/roles could update/change information.
