Hello, our GTS and ECC systems are not aligned when it comes to master data rules check. In certain circumstances Postcodes and PO Box are ok in ECC and then fail when passed to GTS due to different checking rules.

Has anyone any suggestions on the best approach to resolving this misalignment?

1) GTS adopts ECC checking rules

2) ECC adopts GTS checking rules

3) GTS gives a warning only

4) other...

Hi Philip,

It's a good question, and comes up in almost every implementation. As you've noticed, the "out of the box" settings in GTS don't match those in the ERP system.

Ideally you should try to find a reliable source of truth - maybe take a look at https://www.grcdi.nl/linkspc.htm (although I have no knowledge of how accurate the data there might be) - and set up both the feeder and GTS configuration to be the same.

Alternatively, you could configure to turn off all checking in the GTS system and rely on the accuracy of the feeder system, but then you should consider the extent to which Partner data will be entered directly into GTS rather than transferred from the feeder system.

Your decision might also be influenced by your view of the business need for accurate data. For example, if screening results include postcode checks, or if the Customs Authority system is sensitive to the postcode formats, then you might prefer to invest the time and effort to get things right.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Dave

"Invest the time and effort to get things right"

I imagine a strategy here might look like

obtain the ECC checking rules, obtain the GTS checking rules, compare, fix.

any thoughts on this?
