Can I use ABAP Development Tools with SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll?

In SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll, there is the ability to create custom ABAP code to implement BAdIs, and create custom objects. All the documentation that I have seen shows this using SAPGUI. Can ABAP Development Tools (ABAP in Eclipse) be used to develop ABAP code in SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll. If so, would you create an ABAP project in ADT for the connection to SF EC Payroll or would it be an ABAP cloud project similarly as you would for BTP ABAP Environment or SAP S/4 HANA Cloud ABAP environment?

Hi Gregg,

as your Employee Central Payroll tenant is based on NetWeaver 7.40 only ABAP project is supported and NOT ABAP cloud project.

In order to use ADT it is required that a network tunnel (SNC-based SAProuter to SAProuter connectivity) between the customer network and the ECP tenant is set up.
