Greetings for the day,
We have a requirement in which break deduction should only be counted once employee work for minimum of 5 hours, if employee is working for less than 5 hour He/She should not be eligible for the break.
We have tried achieving the same via configuring the Dynamic Break as per the Implementation guide which suggest : - "Working Time and Accumulated Break in Minutes: Specify how long employees need to work before
they can take a break, and how long that break should be."
WORKING TIME is the threshold value here and for ex. if it`s mentioned as 5 user must not be eligible for the break before 5 hours but during the testing this functionality isn`t working.
We will appreciate if any insight will be shared for the same or if there is any alternative way to restrict the eligibility of the employee for break before a certain time.
Thanks in advance.
seems as if your configuration is wrong then.
Cause what you describe is exactly the behaviour of dynamic breaks. Of course, only configuring the threshold is not sufficient, you need to configure the appropriate time valuation rules.
If you have troubles in setting up time valuation rules, please consider the THR94 Time Management course with it´s certification. Or check my blog https://blogs.sap.com/2018/11/09/ec-time-and-attendance-new-features-q4-2018/ where I have described the functionality and configuration.
We have similar concern around dynamic breaks -> employee's working pattern is 8:00 - 17:30 with FIXED BREAK between 12:00 - 13:00
On a particular day -> Employee has 08:00 - 13:00 is half day absence and then he/she has worked 13:00 - 23:00 and we do not see any breaks getting generated.
whereas on non-working day -> if employee reports same attendance type - for more than 6 hours then BREAK is generating.
Is it like we can use either of the solution only - on WORKING DAYS but these mandatory break are country laws they operate irrespective of working / non working days - if there is continuous working time with no fixed break in between then dynamic should generate additional break ?
Even for case where there is working time exceed planned time - then as well these mandatory breaks are not applied i.e., 8:00 - 16:00 but hours input are 08:00 - 23:30 then as well breaks are not generated considering every six hours ?
Even if there is partial overlap to planned working time and no half day absence then as well - NO BREAKS generated ? if dynamic break config is tagged in Job info -> then shouldnt it validate around working time /continuous attendance or atleast main attendance type ?
