We would like to inquire about a configuration issue in LMS regarding the open approval method. Specifically, we have encountered an issue when two or more approvers have the same first and last name. In such cases, the requester is unable to select the appropriate approver from the list as they are displayed identically.
To address this issue, we would like the approvers to be displayed in the same way as "Assign Alternate Manager" in Learning Administration (Path: People -> User -> Actions -> Assign Alternate Manager), where the name of the approver is displayed along with their job and division title. This would enable the requester to select the proper manager from the list of approvers, even when there are multiple individuals with the same name.
It would be nice to configure the approver field to display the approver along with their job and division title.
A feature to distinguish between users of the same name exists by allowing you to configure an additional identifier in user type ahead search. Choices include personExternalID, organization (department or division based on how your platform to Learning data flow is configured) or emailAddress. This setting is in System Administration> Configuration> System Configuration> SEARCH additionalIdentifierDisplayedInUserSearch
