Would you like to network with other developers and explore new and exciting things at the same time? This was the motto of the first SAP Developer CodeJam event that started in Lingen last Friday. We invited Ingo Bräuninger from SAP to introduce us to the latest technologies like ABAP in Eclipse and HANA. Ingo Bräuninger is Product Expert in the team Products & Innovation PI Core Platform ABAP Server and also works in the Developer Team Custom Code Migration to S/4HANA. He is also on the road worldwide at community events and CodeJams. At this event the participants were shown how to develop ABAP programs using Eclipse. Other topics of the day were debugging with ABAP in Eclipse, using Core Data Services, troubleshooting a Fiori app with ABAP profiling and troubleshooting a Fiori app using Dynamic Logpoints.
Furthermore, the participants were introduced to the development of the ABAP Platform over the past years. Practical examples were also used to demonstrate the efficiency of Eclipse when programming in ABAP and how Eclipse integrates into the architecture of the development environment. SAP always supports the last two Eclipse versions in the form of plug-ins, said Ingo Bräuniger when a participant asked him about the current Eclipse version. He was also the contact person for the participants throughout the day and answered the questions asked of him in the complete spectrum of SAP development. Below you can find the complete opening session with Ingo Bräuninger. Please take your time and have a look at it.
