Hi
Good day
Thanks for useful post.
Could you kindly help with our case please?
We do have an On-Premise License and we have a concern if we go with RISE for example for 3 years and later we wanted to come back again and use the normal On-Premise License + the Enterprise support, Is it OK ? Like if we again wanted to host our owned On-Premise License on our servers or on Microsoft Azure.
Thanks for the short feedback
Regards
Mahmoud

Dear Mahmoud,
As a rule when a customer decides to go to the Cloud, the existing on premise licenses are terminated. There is a possibility to do a phased approach and to replace on premise licenses with subscription step by step over a certain period of time. From the financial point of view it makes little sense to keep both (cloud subscription and on premise licenses with associated maintenance).
If a customer decides to terminate Cloud subscription, on premise licenses can be purchased again.
I hope this helps to clarify your question.
Best regards
Natalia

Hello aluinfra_natalia_singer
Good day
Thank you very much for your reply. much appreciated.
Yes true From the financial point of view it makes little sense to convert from On-premise to RISE as cloud and stop the associated maintenance for like 3 years for example.
But I want after those 3 years on RISE , we stable the system and , in order to save the cost to go back using my On-Premise license on my own servers. or maybe even on Azure.
As my On-Premise license which I own it now I have paid it in full 2 years back I expect that I will pay the associated maintenance ONLY if I wanted to cancel RISE coming back to On-Premise. Is this what will happen ?
Thanks for the short feedback
Regards
Mahmoud

Dear Mahmoud,
My suggestion will be to contact your SAP account manager and to clarify your request with him/her. We have standard contract conditions (explained by me in a short version above), but all specific ones & exceptions based on your particular situation need to be discussed individually with your account executive.
Best regards
Natalia
