2021 VSaaS Upgrade and Patch Schedule

Hi Everyone,

Below is the currently planned 2021 Upgrade and Planned Patches schedule for Validated SaaS Learning environments.  As mentioned, the dates represent the evening of when activities are planned to start, but the full maintenance window for each of your respective environments based on data center location will be communicated via official communication channels.

Reading this, it looks like there are no planned patches hitting production in 2021. I must be missing something?

Hi Scott,

the planned patches of the release are published together with the release. See post for b2005.

You missed already Feb 7th with b2005.p32 ? You should also got a notification for prod (I got Jan 26th - VSaaS Patch Release for Production Environment).

Next is planned for Apr 25th (Mar 25th SBX and Apr 4th Stage).

I had scheduled multiple patches in Outlook and we validated the heck out of the current patch, as we had a number of issues with the b2005 upgrade. 

Also, I found the patches I was expecting to see under Sany's 2020 post/heading. I was just caught off guard by the "omission" of them in this post - although I can see why they were not included.

do you know when 1H2021 SuccessFactors LMS Validation Toolkit will be available?
Right now we are implementing vLMS with the 2020 VTK and plan to Go Live on September. 
Do you know maybe that SAP provides a clear view for the difference between VTK 2020 and VTK 2021, so only difference part could be validated for November? Do you have maybe such an experience?

Hi Sany,

The time between Preview and PROD release is very short.  That puts a lot of strain on validation efforts.  Can we push the PROD release to December?

Hi Sany...Do we have the delta configuration guide for upgrade to b2105? Also any news on increasing the time between preview and production with the last patch as many have expressed concerns over the short time period to validate including myself. Thanks, May

Hi Everyone, just to address a couple questions recently posted:

• The validation toolkit for the 2021 upgrade is targeted for release around mid-July just as we did last year. 
• The consolidated Learning VSaaS Release Details documentation for the annual upgrade is posted in the 1H2021 release page  here: https://help.sap.com/viewer/product/SAP_SUCCESSFACTORS_RELEASE_INFORMATION/2105/en-US   (please remember to log in to see it).
• The Learning Preview app was just updated in the app store early this week after iOS approval, so you can feel free to download and start testing in sandbox/preview tenants as you wish.
• I am working with the internal teams to set an earlier date for the last patch before production to allow more time for final validation.  Please stay tuned...

Hi @sany said  - Can you please check the link to the consolidated Learning VSaaS Release Details documentation for 1H2021 upgrade provided above?  The link sends users to the SF Release Information landing page.  When you select "Learning vSaaS Release Details" you are brought to the 2H2020 Release Details, not the 2021 version being shared by @Brabham Marla in other posts.  I've added a screenshot for reference.  I'm trying to point customers to the source document for 1H2021 Release Details but can't locate them via the search function on the help portal.  Thanks for looking into this.

1. if there is a guide such as Validation kit provided by SAP.
2. if there is a part of interface such as version information to see when the release update is reflected in the PROD environment.

As for the current version, if you go to your profile page in the application you can click on the "Show version Information" to view the details. See image below.

I have the very same issues when trying to access content, despite being a member of the group I find many if not all of Sany's posts even have a Locked icon on top right corner and links to the the validated toolkit do not open any content, not sure what is happening with access.

You need to log in the SAP Portal in order to access the Release information.

The links will then have additional information

I would like to ask about release version information located at home.

Left one is from Test environment and Right one is from Production environment. These release version is different ( specifically after b2105.). After Release update of Production for vSaaS, They are going to be same or not?
And What exactly does the 14-digit serial number after b2105 mean?

I would like to ask about why 2H2020 Release components has been applied to Production. It is supposed to be released to Production environment on 12 Nov. but why we can see this in Production already?

Is this the current Patch Schedule? The What's New Viewer is showing 2H 2021 items valid as of items Nov2021-Jan2022 (the table above is showing 2021 for 2022 patches?). The patch email mentions b2105.p29.

Hi Sany, Can you confirm this is the correct downtime which I received via email: 

• Production Maintenance Window:
  Start Date: February 12, 2022 Start Time: 04:00 UTC
  End Date: February 12, 2022 End Time: 11:00 UTC

When I checked my cloud availability center, it had a Start Time: 02/13/2022 04:00 and End Time: 02/13/2022 11:00 which is off by 1 day.  Thanks!
