Changing Stud ID

We need to change our STUD ID, and we're looking at working with Professional Services to use the Merge Connector. Has anyone else gone through this, or a similar job? I'd love to get first hand insight on how the process went. My email is ballinger.jl@pg.com if you have any experience in this!

What is the Merge Connector? I was told the only way to merge was Users-Tools-Merge Users and this is done one at a time.  We have the same issue but currently the Merge Users tool presents and error and SAP does not have a fix yet. We are testing to see if it still works despite the error.

It's a tool that SF has on the back end that allows them to create new Users (using our new STUD ID), then port the data from the old user name over to the new name. We're in the very early stages of this, and I've got a lot of questions... but your customer support person could be able to get you the basic information if you're interested.

Hi Jessica,

Not sure if you are going through the same process with SAP, however I have worked with many customers that had a need to mass change their STUD ID due to integration with Bizx.

My experience has been that the process was pretty smooth. We provided a mapping document that mapped old ID to new ID and then SAP ran a script on the database to replace all old ID's with New ID's. 

I highly recommend that you refresh your QA and PREPROD instances with PROD data prior to the conversion so that you can test run the conversion in a non PROD instance prior to PROD execution. Please PM me if you have any questions.
