Greetings!
Enclosed is a recap of the 5/24/2018 Life Sciences LSIG meeting. Please access the recording for the entire meeting. Play recording (50 min)
New Members Intro and Co-Chair change
- No new members announced themselves.
- Rachel Silveira from Boston Scientific is joining as new co-chair (Wendy has taken on a new role at Boston Scientific).
- New LSIG Coordinator volunteer needed. Becky Loeding has served a 2 years term and it is time to pass the baton. Please contact Becky, John, or Dhruv if you are interested.
Role Based Learning Presentation – Paul Braswell from Biogen
- Paul presented his findings on best practices/benchmarking with data points from Life Sciences and Non- Life Sciences customers.
- Please contact Paul if you have any questions or would like to discuss his findings (we unfortunately ran out of time for questions).
- Key take-ways (strongly recommend listening to recording to hear all of Paul’s insights)
- Most customers are challenged with role based training.
- Biogen is working with internal customer groups to integrate training/curriculum/competencies into business process mappings.
- Key differences between Life Sciences and Non-Life Sciences: Life Sciences themes: Separation between job training and development. Training is used to alert of changes to business processes. Non-Life Sciences Themes: More focus on content, easier ways to find training and creating demand for training, and aligning job role training to performance
- Key trends: All are looking for ways to target training to job roles better. Life Sciences is looking for tools and techniques to enable supervisor accountability. There is also a need to optimize granularity of job role training.
GDPR CheckPoint– John
- New regulation goes into effect May 25, 2018.
- See February presentation on LSIG Fusion Site (presented by Avi from SF) for more details, including purge functionality (February recording and minutes are available in the LSIG Jam site).
- Each customer will need to interpret and implement according to their own needs/interpretation (not a one size fits all solution).
