Navigation issues impacting LMS post b2111 BizX Preview deployment

Hello,

After the BizX update which happened over last weekend (b2111) impacting our Preview instances, we identified a number of issues with regards to new Fiori UI header becoming a universal change.

1. New Fiori header is different to the header that was released to customers for testing prior the upgrade - ie. size of module picker dropdown, alignment of first name and last name details once clicking on the profile icon. We also noticed that scrollbars or some system pop-ups are behaving differently,

2. New Fiori header disappears in LMS after running a blank Search. To replicate this issue, go to LMS as an admin and search for Items or People without defining any criteria, then click Search. Once the search results are being shown, the header disappears,

3. There is a conflict with new Fiori header and Save button in LMS. If you search for Item or People in LMS using  any criteria definition ie. ID and click on any result, on the next page Save button will be missing. If the same was done on IE11, Save button will be working without any issues. According to documentation, "New changes in 2H 2021 aren’t applied to the page header in Internet Explorer 11."

Considering it is less than a month now until v2105 goes live for VSaaS, I'd be keen to learn on other's experiences. Many thanks for sharing!

Hi Everyone,

The fix is currently being tested and processing for release as an additional patch. This will be targeted as 2105p28. The schedule will be communicated through official channels but the target is to deploy it to Sanbox and Preview environments during this weekend's maintenance window. The fix will focus on correcting the UI challenges experienced alongside the universal header update.  This will not revert the SuccessFactors header to the previous non-supported version. Hope this information helps in your planning.

Hello,

I'm also experiencing some issues. 

As LMS admin, changing an item or class, the save button does not appear anymore...

Can you save changes made on items?

Hello,

#1 - we noticed the name no longer appears on the header and the logo shifted only
#2 - I wasn't able to replicate the issue, I clicked on search and the header still appears
#3 No issue with Save butt on for Item and People either. I am able to update item and user data.

Hi,

I am having problems with the save button on Item and Class.

If I try to edit an item the button is there, if I then move to Online content and make a change to the settings it does not appear.

If I leave the item and then return from Recents, the Save button is no longer there.
It happens to me once in 3, and I can't save the variation on the Online content page

I've tested going to Online content and making a change to the settings and it works fine. The save button is there and the reassign appears as expected. Is it possible these issues are related to some browser settings as I am not able to replicate issues mentioned on IE or Chrome? Has a SAP support gotten back to you on this issue? I am concern as we continue with our UAT testing. Thanks!

We are seeing the issue in multiple client environments, but using the Tab button is the workaround.

Not sure what is going on but the issue has now appeared in our environment too. In addition, the pick list is appearing whereby it didn't appear before. I don't understand how this happened as I verified the BizX version as I was testing for these issues.

The setting to "Hide Global Navigation Menu (Module Picker)" doesn't seem to hide it in Chrome. What's odd is I test in IE11 and this does not show nor does the issue with the Save button so IE11 still works as expected. This is very frustrating.

These are the issues we are having on Chrome which only started having today 10/20:
1. Save button does not appear when I do the following:
a. Go to People > User
b. Click on search
c. Open user
2. Save button appears but the BizX header disappears when clicking on entity (Items, Curricula or Programs) under Learning Activities and clicking on search:
a. Go to Learning Activities > Items or Curricula or Programs
b. Click on search
c. BizX header disappears

Does anyone have a custom eSignature solution and have issues signing off in Preview and Sandbox?

This is the error we receive.

Yes we have a custom extension and we did have a problem bot not the same issue as we only got authentication error so I checked our configuration and noticed that the password for our ldap authentication looks different so what I did was apply the password again and I noticed it got masked cuz after I saved it, it changed to a very long password but this fixed our issue. Not sure if this would address your issue.

Hi,

I can see the same issue as Maria.

If I make any changes to an item, the banner at the bottom which includes the 'save' button flashes on the screen then disappears until I try moving to a new section of the item (Online content, curricula, etc.). When I do, the "The changes you made are not saved yet. Discard all changes?" pop up appears, along with the banner in the background behind it. However, if I press cancel on the pop-up to press save, the banner disappears again.

This seems to be the case for everything I tested this for - Curriculum, Assignment Profiles, Classes and Users. 

Is this something that will be resolved before moving into our production instances as we can't go forward with the upgrade if our admins can't save any changes they make.

Hello Everyone,

#1 - Yes, Name no longer appears when you hover on the profile logo.
#2 - Yes, Header disappear upon blank search on items.
#3 - Yes, Save button disappear on Details tab when click "cancel" and come back from other tab.

We are stopped in the execution of the validation test cases, if this problem is not fixed immediately we risk having to close the environment from 12 November until it will be possible to run the tests.

Having same issues with Edge and Chrome.  In LMS, APs buttons like SAVE, Preview Users are not displaying.  Neither are the Save buttons for Prerequisites and Substitutes, Online Content, etc.

As a temporary workaround, after editing a field, click tab until the Save button appears.

Hello,

with regards to the missing Save button we have received from Support the following workaround "after making an edit/change, keep clicking the "Tab" key until the bar, with the "Save" button appears."

I tested it and it works ok on our environment. 

It works for us as well, but 1. it's very uncomfortable as you need to press Tab at least 6 times, 2. it still not solves the more critical issue which is blocked testing for LMS annual upgrade. 

We need a quick response from SAP on if this change will be reverted or will there be an emergency fix.

For the save button, I clicked on the last field and then pressed the tab once to get the save button.  

Is anyone having issues with eSignature in Preview and Sandbox?

Hello @PKetnouvong ,

we have a custom eSig solution in place but don't face any issues. I would recommend to check if SAP has deployed the custom enhancement in our environement. In the past they have once forgotten to do this and we received a similar error message.

Hello,

we have an additional issue related with the b2111 HXM Release with the CDP <> LMS integration.

In SF LMS all is fine, but the new added items are not viewable in CDP. This is browser independent (IE11/Edge/Chrome). Does some other have this also? SAP can replicate this behavior.

As a validated customer, we are concerned that the annual release will be pushed out with these issues.  Our UAT scripts are dependent on the save button.  There are multiple instances where the Save button does not show up with the tab workaround.  

If this is not resolved by Nov 5, 2021, we respectfully request that we hold off on the annual release until this is resolved.

@sany said disregard this question - I figured out that our BizX test environment doesn't have the new Fiori header enabled but Production does.
