Hi Everyone,
In our effort to continuously provide you with the most stable and performant version of our 3Q2018 release, which is currently deployed for our Validated SaaS learning environments, we will be adding an additional patch (27) to our schedule in the near term. The schedule for all the previously communication additional patches remains the same, only with the addition of one more critical patch. The overall patch schedule is shared below:
Please use this schedule for your planning purposes, and as always, the readme notes for all functional fixes will be updated 3 business days prior to sandbox deployment in the Reference section of the 3Q2018 release page: https://help.sap.com/viewer/product/SAP_SUCCESSFACTORS_LEARNING/1808/en-US

Hi Sany,
thanks for the update. Is there any chance to change the schedule of the upcoming additional patch (27). 3 days between the deployment in Sandbox and in Preview is not enough time for us. No chance for us to create a CR and get it approved.
BR,
Piotr

Thanks for the update Sany, but I'm not locating anything on patch 27.
When not seeing anything under References, I clicked on What's New > release info. Then, I set the Version to Q3 2018 at the top and then went to References > Q3 2018 Learning Readme Notes. It appears to stop at p26 however. Admittedly, searching for VSaaS learning info is always challenging for me. 😥
Here's where I ended up.

Please share where I went over the cliff. 🙄

In Sany's post, it says that the readme notes for all functional fixes will be updated 3 business days prior to sandbox deployment, so they won't be available until 1/13/2020.

Hi Sandy,
Does the communication always flow without any notice for validated systems.
When I was in SuccessConnect, I can share the screenshot, it wasn't flagged a patch going to be in Feb 2020. The expectations were set before year ending that the first patch is going to in April 2020 and come Monday I was surprised.
I think it would be great if you can escalate it within product team to atleast 3 months notice.
We planned activities from Jan 2020 until June and this unplanned patch doesn't help at all.
Could you please provide me a contact for me to further escalate as well as I completely understand the decision tree.
Thanks
Khalid

Hi Everyone,
I appreciate all the feedback regarding the timing of the communication, and we do strive to only modify the annual VSaaS schedule when absolutely necessary. Unfortunately we've had some critical patches raised by colleagues that necessitated a sooner resolution than April for production operations, and we wanted to provide the adequate amount of time for validation testing from Preview to Production. Patch notes will be coming out at the end of this week for your review. We are also analyzing our internal process to reduce the need for having these additional patches scheduled in for the future releases as we understand the level of effort on your part to adopt them. Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Becky and all
Our external consultant informed us that all the patch notes should also be availalbe in an excel file. This would be a good starting base to prepare our validation test plan i.e. analyze and decide which of the patches are relevant for us and shall be tested. As this is the first time we get a patch deployed since we introduced our validated learning I have no idea where to find all this information.
Does anyone know where we can find this excel version of the patch notes?
Thanks a lot up-front for your help.
Best regards,
Stefanie

Hope that helps!

Hi all,
We recently implemented the validated LMS and this is the first patch since we went live. I am looking for information on SAP's own process for testing features and bug fixes prior to deploying them to customers. I have done quite a bit of digging and have been unable to find this information. We are trying to determine the extent of internal testing we need to do for these patches. Does anyone know where I can find this?
How much testing do you all do?
Best Regards,
Monica Chaput

Generally, I review the patch notes against the user requirements for the implementation to see if the patch affects the user requirements. If there is low or no impact, that assessment is documented with justification and no testing is performed. Anything beyond that would require some regression testing.

Hi @may thang, there are 2 notifications, one for the SuccessFactors platform and any additional modules customers are using including non-validated LMS, and the other is specifically for the Validated SaaS LMS with the same message/timeline I posted in this community group.

PTCH-31845 indicates fix for Curriculum Item Data CSV report however I cannot find this report in our environment. I only found Curriculum Item Status (CSV) or Curriculum Data (CSV) report. Is it possible they indicate the wrong report name? Thanks!
