SAP Women in Tech meets Farillio- "Is User Experience all relative?"

SAP Women in Tech would like to invite you to a WiT Meets session- WiT meets Farillio- "Is User Experience all relative?" with Alexandra Calvert and Merlie Calvert, two sisters sharing their UX experiences from small businesses to large enterprises and back again!

Join Merlie Calvert and Alex Calvert who are two sisters who have followed very different career paths. Merlie is a lawyer turned “rebel” who is now the CEO of Farillio, a start-up dedicated to supporting small businesses and who went from the large corporate world to creating her own start-up. Alex followed almost the opposite path by starting as a developer in a very small start-up and moving to larger and larger companies to currently being the COO for the SAP S/4HANA UX organization. Merlie and Alex will compare and share their thoughts on user experience needs for different company sizes and customers bases, and they will be discussing what they have learned and give their own opinions on picking the right UX focus to transform a business. They invite you to come and challenge your biases, share your own experiences and thoughts about UX in large enterprises and small businesses (and everything in between) and see if we all end up with the same conclusions!

Alexandra Calvert:

Alex started her career as a developer in a small software house and has worked for four different software companies in the UK, France, and Germany, arriving at SAP 13 years ago via a large acquisition made by SAP. During this time she has had the chance to take on different positions in development, first as a developer and then starting on a very diverse journey that has included more development, product management, project management, quality management, and operations, with people management responsibility for the last 15 years. She has worked with teams around the globe either by being based in 3 different countries herself, managing people at different locations, or working on large scale projects with global customers and products. Today, she is the COO and Head of Business Services for SAP S/4HANA User Experience.

Merlie Calvert:

Merlie is the founder and CEO of Farillio a start-up created in the UK 5 years ago and has been growing ever since. Farillio’s mission is to ensure that no small business owner struggles because they can’t get access to the business tools, info, materials, or expert help they need, on a basis they can afford. She is unapologetically rebellious about championing small business rights and bringing over 20 years of experience in business and law spanning a wide range of advisory and commercial roles in industries from pharmaceuticals and insurance through to music, FMCG, and diamonds. Recognised by the FT in 2019 for being among the top 4% of global legal tech innovators, she is also proud to be an advisor for Antler VC and mentor/adviser to a number of other businesses too. Her clear statement is that “small business is mighty - pass it on!”

The event is open to all and will include a Q&A segment.
