Including Stocks at MRP Area for Supply Planning in SAP IBP

Hi Team,

We have come across a situation for Supply Planning in SAP IBP. The situation is something as below:

At a Plant (Pl1) we have multiple MRP Areas in ECC where component stocks are allocated for different purpose as below:

MRPArea1 stores Component C1 for Sub Con usage for Production of Finished Good P1

MRPArea2 stores Component C2 for Inhouse Production of Finished Good P2

There is Stock = 100 for C1 allocated as 40 in MRPArea1 and 60 in MRPArea2

Now, the requirement is:

If there is a demand of 100 units coming at Plant Pl1 for Finished Product P2 then only 60 units assigned for the purpose in MRPArea2 can be used remaining needs to be purchased.

Kindly let us know if there are any ideas or SAP notes on situations similar to this..!!!

Regards,

Sourojit

Hello sourojit90

The easiest approach is to model the MRP areas as location in IBP. Irrespective of the fact if you are usinf TS or OBP you can bring MRP areas as location in IBP. Generally those comes as PL1_0010, where PL1 is the plant and 0010 is the SLOC.You can also have Tlanes from PL1_0010 to PL1 and PL1_0020 to PL1 for the component movements. So as you mentioned lets say P2 demand came in plant PL1 as dependent req, now you have your BOM for P2 at plant PL1, For the component C1, you can use cross plant production in the production source Item MDT by adding locid to it and then maintain location PL1_0020 for component so that STR for the component is generated from 0020 to PL1 in form of transport.Hope this helps

Hi Ayan,

Thanks for your reply.

I have a query referring to this line "Generally those comes as PL1_0010, where PL1 is the plant and 0010 is the SLOC".

How MRP Areas are integrated in SAP IBP? I am referring to the T-Code: /IBP/ECC_INT_LOC in ECC.

This Tcode screen does not have MRP Areas to be integrated. It does have Plant, Vendor, Customer to integrate. If you can provide clarity on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

-Thanks

hi Apurv

You don’t need a separate place for rmp area. Once you define the plants in the integration model all rmp areas associated with the plant will be transferred to IBP order based planning.

Hi Ayan,

We are using RTI integration to bring data to OBP but MRP areas are not automatically flowing. Any settings do you think we are missing?

Can you provide more info/screenshots if any.

Thanks,

Anil
