How To - Install and Configure "SAP HANA ANSWERS" in HANA Studio

With the release of SAP HANA SPS 08 - There is an interesting addition of help feature named as "SAP HANA ANSWERS" .

The Configuration steps are simple: Just Install the plugin for your SAP HANA Studio

In SAP HANA Studio:

• Click on Help->Install New Software

• In the "Work with" input box, enter >> https://answers.saphana.com/updates

• Click the "Add" button and complete the wizard > HANA Answer will appear in Uncategorized > Select it > Click Next and Accept the T&C and Finish.
• When Prompted with Warning message of Unsigned content Click Ok and complete the installation.

Once HANA Studio is restarted > Changes to notice are:

Click on the small black triangle next to "A" symbol and then click Notification to configure.

In "Notification" pane - Login with SCN user ID.

When Pressed "F10" by selecting a key-word" following is the result

Conclusion:

SAP HANA Answers works perfectly - it even narrows down to SAP HANA Academy videos - In the above screen-shot  second link refers to SAP HANA Academy video over LAG function.

PS: I have used the plugins with SAP HANA Studio Revision 70 and Revision 73.

Hi,

i had problems installing it directly from SAP Hana studio. l had to use the

Alternative and it worked for me:

you can download the plugin as a zip file and follow the installation instructions inside:            https://answers.saphana.com/updates/plugin.zip

Installation Instructions is in the file called install.txt:

Download and unzip the plugin.zip from the HANA Answers website at

   https://answers.saphana.com/updates/plugin.zip

In SAP HANA Studio:

    Click on Help->Install New Software

    Click on "Add" next to the "Work with" input box

Select "Local..." and open the folder where you extracted the zip file

Click the "OK" button and complete the wizard

That's all! Now from SAP HANA Studio, highlight some text and press F10 or click the SAP HANA Answers button in the toolbar.

I am having a problem configuring it. Getting the below error :

Socket factory must implement SchemeLayeredSocketFactory.

What could be the reason for this error?
