Joule Delivers Seamless Access to SAP’s Product Enablement Content with Generative AI

In September 2023, SAP introduced its new generative AI copilot, Joule.
It will be embedded into SAP cloud-based enterprise solutions, reaching more than 300 million enterprise users worldwide. Joule revolutionizes how they interact with SAP business systems, in a secure and compliant way.

We are thrilled to announce that product users can now get quick and seamless access to SAP Help Portal content when they ask a question in Joule, without ever having to leave the application they are working in.

This generative AI-powered feature will be available in all SAP cloud solutions, starting with SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Start in December 2023 and SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition in early 2024, with additional product integrations planned throughout 2024.

SAP’s user enablement content has consistently gotten high marks from customers; but it could be challenging to find the right content, with users often compelled to leave the product interface to find answers to their questions.

SAP User Enablement, headed by sindhu.gangadharan, SVP & MD of SAP Labs India, proposed a key integration between SAP’s flagship generative AI copilot Joule and SAP’s premiere resource for product enablement content, the SAP Help Portal.

With a repository of over 200 million help topics in up to seven different languages, SAP Help Portal is a key source of knowledge for our users with huge potential to accelerate product adoption.

Using Joule, SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Start users can save up to 10 minutes for an inquiry without leaving the UI and search in different content repositories, including search engines.

Additional features will be implemented, including further improving the accuracy of search results, more targeted personalization, and adding additional content repositories.

With the rollout of Joule across SAP’s cloud applications and the SAP Business Technology Platform, the benefits of providing streamlined access to a vast pool of enablement content will have far-reaching impact, saving our users time and effort in accessing the information they need.

Joule will be integrated into all components of SAP Build, our low-code solution: it is already mentioned in SAP Build Apps roadmap and in SAP Build Process Automation roadmap.
