Analysis for Office, Why am I prompted for Username and Password?

Hi all

We are on "Analysis for Office 2.8 sp13 - SAC Edition" with "BW 7.5 sp23". No Business Object platform!

We have come across a situation where an AfO-report (when launching) are requesting Username and Password and we do not understand why! We have SSO setup for BW and normally we are not prompted for Username and Password when we launch or create an AfO report.... Any suggestions why we have this situation?

HI Peter,

1. If you use 'SAP Secure Login Client' try to change the option on the 'SNC' tab to the 'Smart Mode' with 'Prefer Kerberos'

2. It this happend for the workbook with AfO reports saved outside of the BW system but does not happen when user login to display query or workbook saved inside of BW system then the workbook that might be that the workbook has saved inside name of the old BW server - if you changed servers in the meantime.

Kind regards,

Marek

Hi Debjit, Marek and others

The answer to my question was actually very simple: The user that created the AfO-workbook had (by mistake) chosen a SAP GUI entry that was not setup for Single Signon.

thank you for sharing Peter. That's also one of the common reasons to this issue 🙂

Hello Peter,

Try select 'Allow client and Language Selection for SSO Logon' in Settings->Advanced Settings when you save the workbook. See if this workaround works for impacted users and workbooks.
