For some of our Model users are able to use Sequence flows across lane boundaries. For others, this is autocorrected to a message flow. There appears to be no documentation about this apparent autocorrect feature.
1) Does anyone else experience this "autocorrect" of sequence flows to message flows?
2) Does anyone know how this is controlled so that all my users can have the same experience?
if you try to connect sequence flows outside of BPMN2.0 rules, it turns into an autocorrected connecting object. As you mention "across lane boundaries", maybe the lanes are not connected (collapsed lane?) with each other?
