Best practice for connecting to HANA db, ODBC or JDBC?

Hello,

Partner would like to understand the SAP recommendation of connecting to HANA DB. SAP has provided both ODBC and JDBC client/drivers.

But the question is which of these drivers is the preferred/strategic way to connect with HANA DB for the long haul?

Both ODBC and JDBC have been supported from the initial release of HANA. They'll both be around for many years to come.

I'm sure a HANA Product Manager will be along soon to give you an official answer! 🙂

Hello Gregory,

there is no official recommendation since the drivers are for different programming languages. As you see they are still maintained and getting new features. So please use the driver which fits your needs.
