BOE 4.3 - Configuring LDAP using Secure Microsoft Active Directory

Using Microsoft Active Directory, how do we configure LDAP for this server? The documentation is fuzzy in certain areas and we are encountering errors. We want to use secure LDAP. What are the settings we want to use to configure LDAP (port 636). Is there a clean document/blog/video to guide us? Additionally (or might be related):

Regarding SSL, what is the difference between Server Authentication and Mutual Authentication?

Which keystore will be used? Is it Windows Server or generated by BOE VIA Java?
