How Archive Link IDs are generated (OpenText)

Hi All,

We are trying to search how ID's are generated in SAP-OpenText for Archive Link.

And also how is the relation between Opentext and the physical platform were the files/attachments are actually stored.

Relation between SAP and OpenText looks to be quite clear --> table TOA*

We try to figure out if there is any kind of number range that could be used (e.g. OANR), but it looks that the 'Document ID's' are randomly generated by the system. Not sure if some one could help to confirm it.

Does any person know how OpenText and the document/attachment in the physical platform are linked?, Id / how is generated / related in someway with the entry from TOA* table?.

Let me please explain the reason behind:

We are going to upgrade our SAP systems.

We can take an snapshot of SAP and OpenText and in case; after tests, we decide not to go ahead with the Upgrade, we can retrieve the previous version from SAP and OpenText.

But the physical platform where the documents are attached is used not by OpenText.

Then not sure; in case we retrieve the previous version from SAP and OpenText, if could happen that when storing a new file in OpenText, it could be that could exist any inconsistency between OpenText and the physical platform.

Best Regards,

Jamie

We have found that the archive id is got in the function module SCMS_HTTP_CREATE_FILES and it looks that the archive id is return by Opentext.

By confirming that the archive id is generated by OpenText, this will help to solve our situation.

Could any person confirm if the archive id got in the function module SCMS_HTTP_CREATE_FILES is generated by OpenText?

Later on, the SAP id and the archive id are linked with the function module ARCHIV_CONNECTION_INSERT
