How to create a Transaction Variant?

I have a requirement to create transaction variant for WE02 transaction, I am trying to use SHD0 transaction for it but when starting the process and getting in the recording mode when I try to press "enter" nothing happens, but it works for other transactions like MB21.

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

Hello,

I am not really experienced with transaction variants, but as far as I know using a transaction variant is not possible with selection screens (however, in all explanations and guides to transaction variants I can not find this information...?). Transaction WE02 uses a selection screen where MB21 uses a Dynpro. So this could explain the difference.
