How to enhance fiori app 'Resolve and Dispatch Incidents'?

Hi experts!

When trying to enhance the fiori app'Resolve and Dispatch Incidents' (AI_RESP_DISP_INC) in WebIDE, we get the following error message:
'Extending Smart applications is currently not supported', so it seems the traditional approach is not available.

From Fiori Library webpage I can see a link to SAP Guided answers. I've tried to follow it and after I've classified as 'SAP Fiori Elements' app it mentions something about extending the underlying CDS view, which is confusing me. I don't see what is the relationship between the WebIDE application/oData service and a CDS view.

Can anyone give a hint on how to extend this fiori app?

Please note I am not an expert in this field. Hope it helps you to know the relationship between oData service and CDS view.
