Invalid Format error for input Ready Query in Portal

Hi Everybody,

I have created a characteristc as input ready field by following steps mentioned in this link (By making characteristics as key figure).

Everything is working fine (Character as input) if the query is exected in RSRT but when we input any character as input in portal which is linked through a WAD, we are not able to provide character as input (numeric values are accepting) and getting the following error "Input <input text> for <Field name> has an invalid format". "Validation not successfull"

Can anybody please suggest a way to bypass this validation? or any work around is appreaciated.

As per this KBA, 7.50 BW ABAP is supported with 7.30 BI Java from SP09 Patch Level 20 onwards for BI Java(7.30) components:

BI-BASE-B, BI-BASE-E, BI-BASE-S, BI-IBC and BIWEBAPP

Hi Deepak,

this sounds strange and it´s probably a special setting in Portal or style sheet.

this is what the data entry via Portal / WAD / Input redy query

looks for me for a comment info object.

if it works in RSRT, it should also work without problems in portal.

Hi Cornelia,

Thank you for your response. After analyzing, we suspect that this might be due to difference in version between portal and BW. Our landscape as BW 7.5 and portal is 7.3. Can you share which version of portal you are using in your project.

BW is 7.4, Portal I am not sure, but I guess it´s also 7.4
