Master Data Integration and Master Data Management: What's the Difference ?

Hi Experts,

What 's the difference between Master Data Integration (MDI) Services and Master Data Management (MDM) ?

Is MDI part of MDM offering or separate service from licensing perspective?

Is MDI limited to SAP or it can integrate data from non-SAP to SAP applications as well ?

Regards,

Niladri

Hi Niladri,

SAP Master Data Integration (MDI): it distributes master data based on SAP one Domain model to enable a harmonised view of master data across various SAP, Non-SAP systems. Master data integration does not amend the quality of master data, it will distribute master data in its current state.

Master data management (MDM): MDM is mainly cleansing, improving overall quality of the master data. It stores data and builds high quality of master data and trust for master data. It is like a single source of truth for master data.I think MDI and MDM are independent items.RegardsShakeel
