Dear Experts,

is it possible to set up integration SAP Cloud ALM, HTTP destination (/n/SDF/ALM_SETUP), for ALM for Operations through SAP Cloud Connector instead direct proxy outgoing setting.

Regards

Eric

If the question is about the direction "on-premise --> SAP ALM" (outbound), then I don't see the benefit for it. Why use an extra component, that is not needed at all? HTTP Proxy is all you need for that direction.

SCC's main purpose is to allow the opposite direction "Cloud --> on-premise" (inbound), without having to open a hole in your firewall! (And it uses the HTTP Proxy anyway, so for the outbound direction it would just be an unnecessary extra hop.)

Hi Ulrich,

from our experience, in some companies we have come across that the connection to the Internet from their servers is blocked. Often there is an approval problem with allowing such connections. It would be great to be able to use SCC for this case as well, especially when it is already implemented in the network.

At the same time it would be good to add monitoring of SCC servers to CALM.

Hi Peter,

if a company wants to block outgoing HTTP requests, Cloud Connector would have to offer a similar capability, i.e. to define which hosts shall be reachable. Otherwise, it would support bypassing such company policies, which wouldn't be a good idea ...
Eventually, this means moving the allow list from the proxy/firewall to the Cloud Connector.

Best regards,
Markus
