​Change of ECC source system, Impact on Delta initiation setting

Hi All,

We are working on one scenario where Sandbox BW system is copied from production system which has October 2022 data and we need to connect Sandbox ECC system which has September 2022 data and start loading the delta load. Users will post entries in Sandbox ECC and we need to fetch the delta record from sandbox ECC system to Sandbox BW.Wil it disturb the delta initilization? If yes how we can handle this scenario?

Hi Sanjana

It's not a optimal situation. The new documents in the ECC system will probably have numbers that you already have in BW. E.g. a sales document 1234567890 in BW will have 10 items where 5 will come from the new Sandbox ECC and the remaining 5 will be from the original BW system, that will be confusing to the business. Technically you may be able to just continue loading, but you should be prepared to initialize without data depending on extractor and on how your basis team create the sandbox systems.
