Is it Possible to Setup Multiple Launchpads on SAP Mobile Start for Seamless Switching?

Hello experts,

SAP Mobile Start is a powerful tool that allows users to access all their SAP applications from one single point of entry. It provides a personalized, user-friendly experience that allows users to access the apps they need with just a few clicks.

However, I have a business scenario where multiple launchpads exists on SAP Build Work Zone, and a user may need to connect on more than on at the same time. Is it possible to set up and switch between multiple launchpads seamlessly on SAP Mobile Start, without the need for logging in and logging off each time to access a different launchpad? If not, there's another option besides SAP Mobile Start?

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. If you have any insights or tips on whether it is possible to set up and switch between multiple launchpads seamlessly on SAP Mobile Start, or if there are any alternative solutions to this business scenario, please share them. Your contribution is greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
Rafael

Hi Rafael,

the simple answer is no, it is not possible to onboard to multiple launchpads on SAP Mobile Start. However, depending on your use case there is a workaround to accommodate for this.

If you have multiple sites on one system and the user should have access to these, this can be implemented by integrating the content into one site by assigning multiple roles to the same site. Thus, the content is split up by using role assignments instead of having different sites for this. Furthermore, the site can be organized using the spaces & pages concept (currently on SAP Mobile Start the apps will always appear in a flat structure). This way you do not need multiple sites and eliminate the need for switching between sites on SAP Mobile Start.

In case you want to switch between two sites on different systems (e.g. production setup and QA setup) it is not possible to do so with SAP Mobile Start.

You can follow this exercise guide to create apps and assign these to a site and user via roles: https://github.com/SAP-samples/teched2022-DT264/tree/main/exercises/ex2

Thank you for also providing the exercise guide to help us create apps and assign them to a site and user via roles.

Once again, thank you for your valuable input and time.
