If API response is not received in 15 seconds, the connection is closed and no response is showed by Chatbot to the user. Is there any workaround for the same?

This can be done using 'bot actions'.
With bot actions, you can trigger custom actions or call external APIs asynchronously, i.e. conversation can continue while waiting for the response.
