Low Code direction - AppGuyver vs BAS LC Dev Space?

grafs

Hello,

we've invested some time into LC development tools provided by SAP. While AppGuyver is a product on its own we also stumbled over the LC development space in the Business App Studio (BAS). The solutions look similar to us but still, they are not the same. So the question came up why does SAP support two similar LC tools? Is there a roadmap where these two products are heading to? Will AppGuyver become a part of the LC development space in the BAS in the future? Or how are they positioned in SAP LC product portfolio?

good question the difference is....

the stand alone AppGyver from their website does not allow you to debug the code. You could use that LC software and deploy to the web or to an app store (seems more blindly). This option is free.

The LCNC service offered from the BTP has a charge per user and it allows you to debug the code. There are advantages to use this service if you're using it within your SAP landscape like easier integration, availability to use destinations, and keeping it all within the same subscription.

Thanks for the answer! That makes sense. Even so there a larger overlaping areas like screen design where it would make sense to melt the products together and take the best of each one. i know technicaly not that easy but product wise it would make sense.

In the discovery center - cost estimater it says: AppGuyver is 10 Euro/Month per active user.

Just to add to this – SAP AppGyver can be debugged – the [separate debugger](https://docs.appgyver.com/docs/debugging) is currently unavailable in the BTP edition but support for that is going to be added later on. Web version of your app can nevertheless always be debugged even in preview by using the developer console of the browser you are using end e.g. debug log flow functions

Which applications in S/4 HANA, or other standard SAP software, have been developed using AppGyver?

Reason for this question: over the many years, I have seen SAP demo a lot of NC (or LCNC) tools, like Visual Composer, but it does not seem SAP is using those for their own development. That is important, because if SAP uses it for their own development then we can more rely on future support (not just a cool TechEd demo).

Thanks!
