SAP GUI for Windows 8.00 64bit + BI ADDON = dump RFC_ATTACH_GUI_FAILED

Hi,

I've installed SAP GUI for Windows 8.00 64bit and BI ADDON (32bit since there's no 64bit version of BI addon). When I run BEX Analyzer and try to connect with SAP system, I get " 'sapgui' start failed" message in Excel and "RFC_ATTACH_GUI_FAILED" dump in SAP BW system with message "Can't find the path to SAPGUI".

Should GUI 8.0 64bit work with BI ADDON 32bit at all or I must reinstall GUI 8.0 32bit to make BEX Analyzer work?

Also I found an info in dump:

If you want to look for 'sapgui' somewhere else, you can specify
another path by setting the SAPGUI environment variables. This is only
recommended for test purposes however.

Does it mean that I can specify a certain environment variable in Windows to make BEX work wit SAP GUI 8.0 64bit?

did you follow Note 3313594 - "BEx 7.x tools for SAP GUI 800 - Installation Guide"?

Is your Excel 32bit or 64bit? The old BI add in will only support 32bit Excel.

Hi Lutz,

I don't have access to notes, unfortunately. Excel 32 bit. Solved by uninstalling 64 bit GUI and installing 32 bit version of GUI 8.00.
