SAP Dashboards runtime error

Hi,

I am trying to preview a dashboard based on BEX queries. I get the below error. Could you please provide your comments/solution this.

"Could not  generate the Flash file(SWF); the cause is not known.Try again, If the problem persists, contact your customer support representative."

Hi,

We need to narrow down the issue in order to reach the root cause.

What all components exist in the canvas as of now? The size of SWF file which gets generated on preview depends on number of components.

Is the Adobe Flash version supported as per PAM?

If you create a new XLF file --> add a BEX query --> add a spreadsheet in canvas and preview, do you get the error.

If you get error with new XLF file then we can suspect the flash version on the machine.

If you create a copy of XLF file and preview, do you get the error?

If yes, can  you remove components one by one from canvas and check on preview? May be any of the components is corrupted and working properly.

I saved a copy of the .xlf file from BI platform to my local desktop.

Before I get the error , I get a message as below.

When I click on Yes, I get that error message. Is there a way to overcome this?

Hi,

This error can be there if sometimes we are copying some content of other excel into underlying excel of Dashboard then it can be happened. Also if you have any backup of this dashboard (Version earlier) then you can continue with that.

Also check the Design file (.xlf) file size before getting this error and after getting this error. It will increase/decrease abnormally it means that your .xlf got scrapped.

Last option is only you need to rebuild Dashboard.
