Hi Community Team,

I had a following question?

What makes SAP Intelligent RPA "Intelligent" ? I understand that to capture data from unstructured data sources, we have openText software for SAP which is a ML based platform.

Need help on the intelligent features of SAP RPA

Hi Prakash,

What makes SAP Intelligent RPA 'intelligent'? A very good question. First, we have in-build capabilities for surface automation which are using ML. Second, we combine SAP Intelligent RPA with SAP Conversational AI via a predefined integration and enable the use of NLP. Third, we integrate with SAP AI Business Services which deliver ML algorithms for several use cases and we will further deliver a deeper integration with this services during this year.

Of course wee are open for integrations with other tools like OpenText or ABBY to automate document related processes.

Had a followup query if SAP intends to develop its own IDP platform / product to compete with ABBYY / OpenText and others ?

Hi Prakash,

there is of course a roadmap for SAP AI Business Services to add more document types to the tool and also enable the customer to enhance this models or create their own. This are technical services which have to be consumed by an SAP application or an custom application. We have also a new process in S/4HANA to create SO automatically from incoming POs.

If this will result in a couple of years in a IDP solution, I do not know.

Can we use RPA on ECC 6.0.? We not on S4HANA yet and want to explore if we could use now before upgrading to S4HANA.

Yes, you can use ECC with SAP GUI 7.40 and higher
