Hi Everyone,

I am trying to test connectivity from HCI and get the below error.

javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: 535-5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at 535 5.7.8 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials x188sm17899865pfx.198 - gsmtp

Hi Balaji

The configuration looks fine to me (assuming that the credential contains the correct username and password, of course).

However, please keep in mind that if the Gmail account uses 2-step verification, username/password will not work. In that case, you need to create an app password, as mentioned in the support.google.com link.

Morten

Hi Morten,

Thank you for your reply. Username and password are correct. I did not turn on 2 step authentication. Also enabled to allow less secure apps.

Hi bponnam

Is the credential's username the full xyz@gmail.com email address? xyz on its own is not enough.

Regards,

Morten
