SAP Community - Where are you from?

SAP Community keeps growing and growing and I am super excited for this Welcome Corner as it gives the chance for not only new members but everyone to get to know one another and connect with each other.

As my colleague @Katherine_K gives an overall introduction to the Group and what you can expect from it in her blog post, I’d like to take the opportunity to start a discussion about the different locations represented in our global SAP Community. I am interested to read where you are located and where SAP Community is spread around the world.

I am from Germany and currently living in Wiesbaden, which is the capital of one of the sixteen German states located in the west. After years of studies and living in different places, my hometown has caught me again with its charm and the closeness to friends and family has won me over.

But now I am curious, where are you tuning in from?

I am from Germany, from December, 2022. Before spent all my life in Russia, last 18 years in Moscow. 

Was  born in a small city Bugulma in Tatarstan (part of Russia). After University worked as a sales and marketing director in Telecom company in Kazan (capital of Tatarstan), than moved to Moscow to work in startup.  After 3 years in startup joined in SAP and this year was a 15 years since my start.

@christian_noack it is great to meet you! I live outside of Philadelphia, PA in a town called West Chester. It is also a college town which makes for a bustling and fun atmosphere. If you want to see West Chester you can check out the movie Marley & Me. We have beautiful landscapes and lots of hiking!

Hello everyone,

my name is Joachim Schirra. I am living in Düsseldorf, which is - in my opinion 🙂  - one of the nicest cities in which I have ever lived so far and I do not intend to change this in future ;-). This city is the main capital of North Rhine Westfalia and very close to the city of Cologne, a city which is always a bit "struggling" (but in  a humorous way) with Düsseldorf for historical reasons. Some "nasty" people claim that Cologne is a suburb of Düsseldorf. 🙂 As I am saying, "nasty" people... We also love "our suburb" Cologne. 🙂  

I like the whole federal state of North Rhine Westfalia very much even given the fact that I am not born and did not grew up here. I grew up in the federal state Saarland where SAP by the way also has a location. A not so small amount of SAP´s employees working in the field of analytics  seem to be grown up and living there. So guys, greetings to my former homeland. 

I intend to talk a little bit to all people here interested in the analytics products SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, but also in the products SAP BTP and SAP HANA Cloud. Analytics keeps me busy since 1999.

  My name is Julian Siarl Phillips, currently living in Uppsala, Sweden, I have been working in and around SAP Tech since 1993 and blogged a fair bit in that time under several different S users.... However due to the complexities of having a continuous user-profile when changing jobs, which is apparently still not technologically possible, I find I must have a new profile, and so lose all my blog histories,, to create an entirely new set of histories. Still I kind of like the idea of starting out from a fresh slate so here goes! Hope to see you all out in the SAP community.
