Just last month, I had the pleasure of interviewing Mark Bernard for our co-talk and I'm excited for you to hear more on ABAP Git. In this episode, you'll discover what ABAP Git is and how it works, why ABAP Git is needed for and how it can be used, and SAP's role in the development of ABAP Git and their support for ABAP open-source projects. Mark Bernard breaks down the basics and practical uses of ABAP Git, while Michael Schneider shares SAP's involvement and invites you to explore more ABAP open-source projects. Shrini: Did you know you can easily create SAP Fiori applications using Visual Studio Code on your local machine? Ensure you're using version 18.14.2 or higher of Node.js and the corresponding NPM version. Open Visual Studio Code and click on the extension icon. Search for Fiori Tools and select SAP Fiori Tools Extension Pack. Click Install to install the application wizard to start creating SAP Fiori apps. The extension pack includes other extensions to boost developer productivity. Once the installation of extension pack is complete, it is recommended to restart Visual Studio Core. Using build command palette in VS Code, select Fiori Open Application Generator to see the types of applications that can be generated. You can either choose basic layout to create freestyle application or one of the pre-built layouts to create a Fiori elements applicators and follow the step-by-step visa. It is that easy.

It's on the Terraform provider for SAP BTP and gives you a great overview in less than 20 minutes. You can watch the SAP CodeTalk in video format on YouTube or consume an audio only version in the form of a podcast episode.

And if you want to find out a little bit more about the Terraform provider for SAP BTP, there's a great short blog post all about that with lots of really interesting and important links from Yogesh.

The other video that we want to share with you this week is slightly shorter than the SAP CodeTalk. In fact, it's around 45 seconds. Why 45 seconds? Well, it's part of a new series of YouTube Shorts that the Developer Advocates team are putting out. The YouTube Short is basically portrait format, less than 60 seconds designed to be consumed oligo on your phone. We've got a new series telling you all the stuff that's good to know about CAP Node.js. So check it out. The video this week is on the new records option for the CDS "add data" facet. Links, as always, in the description.

Antonio: Hola, SAP developers. The on-site hero of our hybrid landscapes was recently updated. I'm talking about SAP Cloud Connector. There's a new version available for it, which is version 2.17, and there are many new things in it. For example, I'm now able to configure three LDAP servers in it. Apart from that,

I'm also able to configure a custom High Availability Report. It now runs on the SAP Machine 21. Also, the Java Web Component was updated to Java Web 4.0, which means that it is running now Tomcat 9. So yeah, check out Marko's blog post where all the details are. Apart from that, we also have the design guidance that are now accessible from the Cloud Integration Editor. So if you're an integration developer, I'm sure that you're familiar with the design guidelines that are available in the API Business Hub. Well, the news is that those design guidelines that were available there now are within the editor, meaning that you can actually run checks of your integration flows to make sure that they actually follow those guidelines. So for example, you want to know if your integration flow is handling errors gracefully. Well, you can activate that functionality in Cloud Integration, and then you will be able to run those checks against your integration flow. So check out the blog post where all the details about how to activate the design guidelines and how to run those checks, for example, are available. And not just that, but also there's a lot of enhancements that are coming with it. So keep an eye on that, because there's a lot more coming.

Witalij: This week marks the Q2 2024 quarterly release of SAP Analytics Cloud. The product management team has prepared a comprehensive list of the new features in this release, complete with 80 minutes of recorded demos for all the new editions. Highlights of this release include the presentation mode, which brings key features from the traditional digital boardroom into the optimized experience, support for SAP Analytics Cloud KPIs on tiles and widgets in SAP Mobile Start, and personal favorite of mine, the rank with others feature that allows you to view top and bottom and rankings in comparison to other data points. Remember, you can explore not only the current features, but also future plant enhancements using the SAP Roadmap Map Explorer.
