This year´s ACC PT 2024 within the 5th GUSP bi-annual conference, on Tuesday 16 April 2024, who counted with about 300+ participants, among them 24+ SAP Partners and 7+ Educational Institutions part of SAP University Alliances (UA).
Note: GUSP stands for User Group SAP Portugal in portuguese (Associação de Utilizadores SAP em Portugal), and it is a private, non-profit association created with the aim of promoting cooperation and sharing of experiences among organizations that use SAP services or products, defending their common interests. SAP recognizes GUSP as a local community of users and a preferred channel for submitting development requests in order to better adapt its products to the specific needs of the national market.
At the ACC Portugal 2024 we counted with the presence of 7 Educational Institutions and 3 SAP Partners who are engaged jointly with Educational Institutions and support them actively as professors.
The ACC Portugal started with a presentation from José Luis Nunes, Presales Director SuccessFactors, and also UA Country Manager Portugal, who welcomed everyone and presented the agenda. We had an introduction session from all academics, where each academic and partner present explained what they are doing with SAP in the academic environment and what are their plans in the future. After that there were some quick updates about events and resources within SAP University Alliances, held by me. And last but not least there was a slot about UCC TUM Curricula updates, by Dr. Holger Wittges, UCC TUM Director, which did not take place due to time constraints.
In the second and last part of the ACC PT 2024 participants were immersed in a workshop working in teams, to analyze and share the as-is situation, the future we want to reach and how to bridge both worlds, clustering and finally voting for the proposals presented. Thank you for all the feedback provided, the synergies, support offers, etc. to work jointly. We will come back later on, to follow this up.
Moreover, in the keynote agenda of the 5th GUSP Conference, we had a roundtable organized and run by NG4ALL ambassador Jose Luis Nunes, about SAP Academic Communities & Employment SAP Road-Map, including Customer and Par. The moderation was held by Fernando Goncalves (Grupo Naveiro), and we counted with participants such as Guilherme Teixeira (Casais), Prof. Jorge Carrola (NOVA IMS), José Luis Nunes (SAP UA Portugal) & ex-student Diogo Francisco (Casais).
About the SAP University Alliances team in Portugal
We count with the full support from the Portuguese Management team: Nuno Saramago (MD), José Tavares (COO), Joaquim Freire (Large Enterprise and Public Sector Director). Presales colleague @Nunes, Jose Luis has been acting as UA PT colleague jointly with me in the last few years. Additionally, we count with @Giao, Miguel from the BTP team and also responsible for TA activities, who has been also fully engaged in UA PT in the past months. Behind the scenes
For the first time and as a result from our GUSP-SAP University Alliances collaboration initiated in 2022, where SAP University Alliances held its ACC PT 2022 one day prior to the GUSP bi-annual conference and counted with the presence of GUSP president Teresa Gomez. In that event UA held a keynote session on the main GUSP agenda about SAP University Alliances by Prof Jorge Carrola (NOVA IMS), Fernando Goncalves (GUSP director) & by María Calzada de Neumann (UA Regional Director, LAC, Spain and Portugal).
After that SAP University Alliances fully sponsored a Baton Game for GUSP customers jointly with students, which was co-organized jointly with SAP Portugal, GUSP & SAP University Alliances. Further details under GUSP Battles – Baton Simulation Game 2023 – SAP UA – GUSP
And finally 2024 ACC PT was held within the GUSP Conference, and Professors from all full member Institutions were actively invited to join GUSP Conference, to attend the 2-hour-long ACC PT and also to hear GUSP keynotes and network with the whole ecosystem. GUSP´s 5th Conference 2024 counted with 300 participants from customers, partners and universities.

Thanks to this GUSP-UA collaboration and due to the big support from the GUSP direction leaded by Teresa Gomez and team, a tab dedicated to the “Comunidade Academica” has been added within the official GUSP webpage: GUSP – Grupo Utilizadores SAP em Portugal and is under construction for quotes from UA Professors, Students, Graduates, about their own experiences with SAP in the class.
We thank the GUSP direction leaded by GUSP President Teresa Gomez and jointly with Fernando Goncalves & GUSP Board, who tremendously supported this win-win-win collaboration. It goes without saying that SAP University Alliances Community is part of the SAP ecosystem, and as such, it must be present where the SAP ecosystem also is present, don´t you think? 🙄
