SAP partners can now make their credentials shine even brighter to distinguish their capabilities and end-to-end business process know-how and breadth of their cloud solution portfolio coverage with the new Intelligent Enterprise competency which is now visible on SAP Partner Finder on sap.com.

As SAP Partner Finder is a strategic tool for partners to showcase their profiles and their credentials to thousands of prospective customers that visit it every day, starting mid- September, the Intelligent Enterprise competencies and specializations will automatically appear on partner profiles as partners earn the new designation.

A Brief Refresher on What’s a Competency

Before we dig into the Intelligent Enterprise competency, let’s take a moment to explain the basics of the SAP’s competency framework for partners which debuted last year where we introduced the concept of competencies and specializations.

That concept, which has been greeted by partners with a big thumbs up, established a new designation credential by categorizing partners by the competency and specialization they offer giving customers a clear view into a partner’s the skills, expertise, and maturity of a partner’s SAP practice.

In turn, this approach allows partners to differentiate their skills in driving customer success with new set of global competency and specialization designations that make it easier for customers to distinguish a partner’s capabilities, expertise, and experience.

Partner performance and achievement are key drivers for attaining a competency or specialization designations which are automatically awarded and appear on SAP for Me and on SAP Partner Finder when a partner meets or exceeds the requirements and criteria in three key pillar areas: Knowledge, Customer Success and Proficiency.

Competencies are tiered and visually demonstrate − via the competency designation and its three progressive levels (Essential, Advanced, Expert) − a partner’s expertise, capabilities, and the maturity of the partner’s SAP practice in a solution, line-of-business, or industry area. For instance, Human Capital Management is a competency that is offered.

Specializations are not tiered - conveying accomplishment at the product or process level, and more importantly they are the building blocks towards earning a competency. For instance, Core HR and Payroll is a specialization that a partner can earn, that stands on its own. In addition, it is one of several specializations needed to attain the Human Capital Management competency.

The Uber Competency for the Intelligent Enterprise Gurus

The Intelligent Enterprise competency was announced to partners earlier this year as the next stage of the evolution of the competency framework. Think of it as an uber competency and specialization designations. Intelligent Enterprise competency recognizes a partner’s ability and success in delivering integrated end-to-end cross functional business processes.

Besides that, it provides additional differentiation to partners with skills and experiences in cross solution portfolio delivery to help businesses become intelligent enterprises. Partner organizations with deep skills and experience in delivering integrated end-to-end business processes can now step up and distinguish their expertise with the new Intelligent Enterprise competency and specializations.

Specializations are available in four separate process areas: Source to Pay, Recruit to Retire, Lead to Cash, and Design to Operate. Intelligent Enterprise competency has now officially been launched so customers can view them on via SAP Partner Finder as of September 19.  Access this snapshot for a brief overview of the intelligent enterprise competency.

How to Earn the Intelligent Enterprise Competency Designation

One key criteria for obtaining the Intelligent Enterprise competency is that a partner must have an SAP Certified Professional – SAP Enterprise Architect. This is a crucial role for delivering the customer’s business transformation as SAP Enterprise Architects are responsible for designing and implementing SAP solutions that align technology with the business needs of an organization. They have a key role in ensuring that SAP systems are integrated and optimized for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Partners may want to choose senior individuals who have a deep familiarity with business processes, the SAP cloud portfolio and integration technology and can think beyond the box and can lead the system architect discussions and help provide the vision.

There are two paths towards obtaining the enablement for an SAP Enterprise Architect certification listed below in the table.
