Imagine this, you're enjoying your favourite cup of coffee on your vacation, admiring a beautiful landscape or you are just appreciating how your coffee mug perfectly matches your well-arranged home-office setup in the background. It's hard to resist the urge to capture such moments…. It is my pleasure to invite you to our new photography competition – Coffee with a View!

Our previous coastal photography competition uncovered lots of passionate photographers within our community. Revisiting the thread, I am delighted to see those breathtaking perspectives from around the globe that were shared. For some, capturing memorable moments through photography is also an important part of travelling. My colleague @mynynachau just started an interesting discussion about traveler’s mindset, check it out!

Speaking of coffee, it holds an irreplaceable part in my life. It's no wonder that the “Coffee Corner“ group initially caught my eye when I joined the SAP Community. For me, drinking coffee embodies a ritual that signifies connection, engaging conversations, and cherished moments of “me-time”. I was thrilled to stumble upon the discussion thread about our favourite coffee.

Why Coffee with a View?

If you scroll through social media, you'll notice that “Coffee with a View” has been a popular trend for a while now. Search for the hashtag #coffeewithaview in any platform and you'll see what I mean. The view can be anything: somewhere in the nature, a nice café you visited, in front of your office building or a conference room, or even your very own “coffee corner” in the kitchen. Let's share those coffee views and tell each other about the stories behind them.

P.S.: Tea-lovers, we also accept your “tea with a view” pictures, it’s the story of the view that is important to us!

I have some pictures in my camera roll that I'd love to share with you for a start.

Coffee with a View of cherry blossom and people – bye bye Covid-winter!

This picture was taken on a beautiful spring day in Heidelberg, Germany. I was enjoying a relaxing Sunday by the riverside of Neckar, surrounded by cherry blossoms and a clear, blue sky. I treated myself to a flat white and a slice of strawberry cake. I wanted to capture this moment because it reminded me of the joy of being outdoors after a long winter of COVID-19 restrictions. I felt the warm spring breeze and heard people chatting and laughing. I was grateful and I was truly in the moment.

Coffee with a View of Hamburg city canal – my first paid vacation as a student

The picture is taken on my vacation to Hamburg Germany when I visited the historic “Speicherstadt” district in Hamburg. It was my very first paid vacation and back then I was a working student at SAP. I tried the local coffee with the signature canal view of Hamburg city, which has a special urban feeling. The water was shimmering under the sun and reflecting the surrounded buildings. It was a unique view!

I am already very curious about your views and stories. Join me and share your pictures & stories with the community!

Morning coffee in southern France (one of my favourite sunrise coffee-spots)

This picture is from my summer holiday last year, visiting my godmother in France. I usually never get up for sunrise, so this one of the few places in the world where I love to get up early and enjoy my coffee (and a madleine) while the world slowly wakes up.

Hello All,

We are preparing a Coffee in house with all needed proportional ingredients but actually for me it not giving taste of what we will be having in roadside Coffee shop. (Not more then 10 rupees in India).

Heat of coffee will become of normal before we are having bubbles. Can someone explain why tastes of bubbles and coffee will be varied always?

May be experience makes perfect than the theory.

I can be able to count number of bubbles (~93) in coffee 🍗 (Can anyone try?)

@Prasath interesting observation. I would say the important factors to influence the tast of coffee would be the kind of coffee beans and the brewing method (French press, filter, espresso machines etc.). Counting the bubbles sounds like a fun experiment. So how do you usually heat up your coffee?😊

Since, we get it from roadside there no need of heat up. If we want to do it from home, then it typically needs few Equipment and functional location and followed by routing as well.

Equipment: Fire Lighter.

Functional location: Kitchen

Routing: Ignition and Heating

Plant Maintenace and Production planning to be integrated (rework process to be carried out)

My morning coffee facing the Kaiser mountains

I recently moved into the southern Bavarian area and really enjoy having a view on the "Zahmer" and "Wilder Kaiser" in the morning while sipping my coffee. (And yes, that's cinnamon on top of the milk foam - love it).

What a nice nature view to start the day, the weather looks so ideal too. I will try cinamon on top of my capuccino instead of chocolate tomorrow morning!😍

Uuhhh, absolutely LOVE where you live now 😍

So all the great coffee is nice and all and the views are great but there are other "views" that go with coffee.

Screenshot 2023-06-15 at 16.53.48.png

The concept was new to me and I am huge fan of a great Latte Macchiato but I've not managed a good shot yet with a beautiful view like @lenastodal just published or the one from @anne-petteroe so maybe I'll post again 🙂

Check out our #coffeewithaview competition!

Taking a moment to reset with a cup of coffee in the backyard.

The cup: a vintage cup from iAnywhere, a Sybase company (acquired by SAP), from London.

Pralines: a nice discovery in Riga during my recent trip to SAP Inside Track in Latvia.

Enjoying a coffee before the start of the CodeJam in Dallas, TX on Friday, June 17th. The SAP offices here in Dallas have an Excellent coffee machine. I highly recommend the Mocha if you ever find yourself in this SAP office.

Today I arrived in Sydney for a CodeJam tomorrow. I took a nice cup of Salted Carmel Macchiato for a tour of the harbour.
