Changing material group of an article in a IS retail system?

Hi gurus,

We have an issue with changing material group of an article using transaction WRCR. We used to change the material groups freely until we introduced characteristics to the material group. we have a scenario as follows when we change the material group we want the characteristics also picked for the same article from the new material group.

Now when we try to change the material group we get the errror as follows:

WW602 The assignment of object 000000000000561789 to level xxx does not exist

561789 cannot be reclassified from xxx to level xyz

Hi Bibin,

Can you please share more details, I'm having the same error and I have tried what you have suggested, the MC's have the same characteristics and have blanked the characteristics value using MM42 but I'm getting same error WW654.

Hi all,

The problem is resolved. I had to change the characteristics values to blank in Article master (MM42). Then run WRCR Transaction.

that's right, when you transfer an article from MC to another MC and it was assigned to characteristics with value too, you have:

1- make sure the target MC must have the same characteristics that the article had a value, or

2- clear all assigned value in the article as you did.
